Charles Campbell has had a business on the same street for over 50 years. He started selling art supplies and doing framing in 1947 on the 700 block of Chestnut Street, down the hill from what is now the San Francisco Art Institute. In 1967 he moved to our present location in the 600 block of Chestnut and has had an art gallery since 1972. A name change to Campbell-Thiebaud in 1988 reflected a new partnership that lasted until the beginning of the year 2000.
In 2004 Mr. Campbell invited Steven Lopez to become his partner and to continue running the gallery. We move forward into the twenty-first century with a strong foundation to build upon, guided by our passion and setting our sights on continuing to show what we believe to be the finest and strongest art work we find.
